Hello! I am a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist specialized in Diamine Oxidase (DAO) enzyme deficiency. I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Nutrition and Dietetics from Ramon Llull University (Barcelona), am a member of the scientific committee of the International Society of DAO Deficiency and the Nutritionists and Dietitians College of Catalonia.
Since 2011 I have worked on many projects that involve the metabolic disease DAO deficiency, which results in histamine accumulation from the lack of DAO enzyme. I practice my knowledge in my private practice office, AD Dietistas and have had to recently expand the team of dietitians due to the fact that DAO deficiency is becoming more common.
One of the principal symptoms of the histamine excess is migraine; we now know that the 87% of migraine sufferers have DAO deficiency, and as a dietitian I can help them through diet!
I also love sports nutrition, and I collaborate with another medical center specialized in Sports Medicine. I try to educate people about how they can improve their health through changing a little bit their diet and eating habits, which is sometimes difficult, but it is worth at the end.
